Remarks: (1) Valentine visited April 14, 1988, by Lloyd C. and June F. Engelbrecht: nothing of hotel or inn size, in use or abandoned was seen. Possibly Valentine would not have made a good hotel location, because an automobile traveler of the time could have lodged at Van Horn or Marfa.
(2) Dr. Cecilia Thompson, Marfa historian, expressed surprise that a hotel had ever been proposed for Valentine.
Prepared for the El Paso Public Library by Lloyd C. and June F. Engelbrecht under a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, 1990
