Remarks: J. W. Philipps is listed as an El Paso residential client in an undated Trost & Trost notebook now in the collection of Trost family.

In 1909, J.W. Phillips erected three dwellings on Brown street, between Myrtle avenue and Magoffin street, at the cost of $4,735. The houses were designed by Trost & Trost and the work is being down by contractor J.S. Calhoun.
